Green Stewards

Top notch training

We ensure that all our stewards are fully briefed before they start work and are confident in what is expected of them. We often arrive on site the day before an event starts and have sessions on things like radio usage, health and safety, dealing with lost children and a host of all the things you have questions about.

This base package is offered at every event and to all stewards. However, we also have a trained team of core stewards who will have attended the training camps.

Training camp

Due to overwhelming demand, the training camp is now full

Building on our reputation for providing quality event stewarding, we are in the process of finalizing another Green Stewards training course to take place over the bank holiday weekend of 3rd/4th May.

We will have 40 places available for this intensive and enjoyable weekend and the successful candidates will join our trained and experienced team of Green Stewards who already have priority of place for ALL our events with the opportunity of some paid stewarding work throughout the season. They will automatically join the team of paid stewards for Sunrise Celebration in addition to the larger volunteer team we will be running there.

To put this in perspective, of the 17 events we worked last season, 13 of them involved paid work. So it is likely that anyone completing this course will have a fairly busy AND profitable summer.

Individual assessment will be made throughout the course and successful completion and certification will very much depend on both individual performance and the ability to work within the team.

Green Stewards will arrange and finance the training weekend. All we ask is that course graduates reimburse the small cost of training from the paid work at our events afterwards. This will be the equivalent of two paid six hour shifts.

The final part of the training assessment will be full participation within the paid steward team at Sunrise Celebration 2008.

Once course graduates have successfully worked their first event at Sunrise Celebration and costs have been returned, we will issue certificates.
